Global Getaways are Back Again

Tl;dr: this quarter’s Global Getaways promotion offers some excellent deals. Be sure to search one-way with flexible dates for best availability.

Somehow Alaska sensed I was going to write about Atmos Rewards today, and decided to launch another one of their recurring Global Getaways promotions.

The Details

Here are the destinations and one-way fares. They are economy tickets, and can be canceled for a full refund, minus the $12.50 partner award booking fee.

Helsinki: 17.5k points
Copenhagen: 20k points
Hokkaido: 20k points

Travel dates: February 27 - May 12

Lazy Take 🦥

These deals are mostly solid — if I had the time to travel, I would immediately book a Hokkaido ticket, while the cheaper European destinations looks solid as well, especially considering how flexible these tickets are. Prague is a bucket list city for me, and one I don’t often see points deals on.

I am seeing spotty availability for these deals compared to past Global Getaways, and my initial searches seemed to show high fees. That may be because I did round-trip searches, and I had better results searching one way at time: on Alaska’s website, run a one-way, “flexible date” search to see the widest availability.
