Bilt Rent Day: Accor Transfer Bonus
Tl;dr: The Accor transfer bonus presents solid value, but the points can be tricky to redeem and expire after 12 months. I plan to pass on this one.
Bilt Rent Day is back on February 1st—and it’s the final Rent Day for Bilt 1.0 cards, but with a Bilt 2.0 twist. This will be the first Rent Day where you can use Bilt Cash to boost your transfer bonus: $75 in Bilt Cash will increase your transfer bonus by 25 percentage points. This month’s transfer bonus is to Accor Live Limitless (ALL).
Accor Transfer Bonus
If you’re not familiar, Accor is a French hotel chain with a big footprint: it operates over 5,000 hotels in over 100 countries. It has a fixed-value points system: ALL points can be redeemed in 2,000-point increments for 40€, or the equivalent, off of the cost of your stay, for a value of 2 Euro cents per point. Although a few points programs have transfers to ALL, Bilt has the best default ratio at 3:2. This Rent Day, Bilt is offering tier-based transfer bonuses as follows:
“ALL Points” is ALL points received per Bilt point transferred with the corresponding bonus. The value is per Bilt point, USD ($) based on approximate current currency conversion rates.
Although the face value of ALL points can be great, especially with these transfer bonuses, the true value might be lower. For example, there are quite a few Accor properties in Japan, but we found during our trips last year that they weren’t the types of properties we wanted to stay at and that they were more expensive than the other alternatives that we preferred. But I was happy to redeem them for an affordable but nice Ibis stay in Switzerland.
Note that ALL points expire after 12 months without qualifying activity. I took advantage of a January 2025 Rent Day promotion to transfer some points and get ALL elite status. But I wasn’t able to actually stay in that Accor hotel until last week, so I had to transfer some more points to extend their shelf life. So I strongly suggest thinking about whether you’ll be able to fit in an Accor stay in the next year or are willing to do the work to make sure the points don’t expire.
Other Benefits
As in prior (and hopefully future!) Rent Days, Bilt is offering double points (up to 1,000 bonus points) on non-rent card spending, a chance to win free rent via the in-app Rent Free game show, free coffee at Bilt HQ, and various special events like dining experiences and fitness classes. This month’s Rent Free features elevated prizes, like a full year of free rent (limitations apply).
Lazy Take 🦥
I’m excited (and sad) to use my original Bilt Mastercard for the last time to earn double points on Rent Day. I hope my inbound Palladium card will be equally rewarding. As for this month’s ALL transfer bonus, I plan to pass on it. I just haven’t had enough opportunities to use the points I already have, and I don’t like the pressure to keep track of points that can expire so quickly. But if you can put them to use, it’s a bonus that offers genuinely solid value, even without any Bilt status.
