Bilt Adds Home Delivery — and Hints at Mortgage Points Coming in 2026
This is the October 19, 2025 edition of the LazyPoints Weekly newsletter. It goes out by email every Sunday at 8:00 a.m. Pacific–unless I oversleep–and is archived here on the blog. Want it straight to your inbox each week? Sign up here.
This week, Bilt took two more steps toward loyalty world domination.
First, Bilt announced a partnership with United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM)—the nation’s largest mortgage lender—set to launch in early 2026. UWM customers will earn Bilt points during loan origination, for on-time payments through Bilt, and get exclusive “Bilt Neighborhood” rewards. Details are still sparse, but Bilt’s founder Ankur Jain said UWM customers will be “the first” to earn mortgage points—implying broader access to come later. 🤞
Second, Bilt launched Bilt Home Delivery in partnership with GoPuff. Members can now earn Bilt points for delivery orders on top of their card rewards. The launch includes a $10 credit for certain Bilt elites (I got $10 for Gold) and a $10 credit for Close Friends (told you to sign up!). I gave it a try—delivery took about an hour, but it came with a $7.90 delivery fee plus tip. 😬 Not a game changer for me, but interesting.
Still, Bilt remains one of the most creative players in the loyalty space. If anyone’s going to make mortgage payments feel rewarding in Bilt 2.0, it’s probably them.
This week on the blog 📝
If you find the world of points opaque and confusing, I laid out A Lazy Redemption Roadmap to get easy value on your points, and start using transfer partners for more value without too much extra effort or analysis.
Coincidentally, Frequent Miler also wrote a great post arguing for digging deeper and doing the math on points. If you decide to go that route but want to keep it lazy, check out our redemption value calculator.
Quick Points of the Week ⚡
Major news 🚨
You can now get your International Driver’s Permit online. An essential for travel to many LazyPoints-favorite destinations (Japan, Italy, etc.), you can now save yourself the trip to AAA and order one online. (TPG)
Special offers ✨
Deadline extended for Atmos Summit waitlisters. If you signed up for the Atmos Summit waitlist last year, you were offered 5k bonus points if you signed up for the card within 14 days of launch. Well that has apparently been extended for some, so check your inbox for the extension if you’re still interested in the best new card of 2025. (FrequentMiler)
More value 📈
Double dip on hotel rewards with Rove. Shopping portal and travel booking site Rove is now offering “loyalty-eligible” bookings, meaning that you can earn “Rove miles” (transferrable to partners like Accor and Flying Blue) while also earning hotel points and enjoying elite status benefits at chains like Marriott and Hilton. Rove is also offering double miles on these bookings through the end of October. (MilesTalk)
Note: You can get 500 Rove miles instantly for signing up for free with our referral link (we’ll get bonus miles too, and appreciate your support), but I think Dave’s link might get you 1,500 through October 21st; that’s the best offer I’ve seen in Rove’s short history.
Hacks 🧑💻
Get targeted for free points. Amex is sending targeted offers to members to enroll in Pay Over Time, their feature to allow their charge cards to be used like credit cards. You don’t want to use it—that will cost you interest—so unenroll to avoid that risk and make yourself eligible for targeted offers to turn it on (keep paying your balance in full, though!). FrequentMiler explains here.
Devaluations 📉
Atmos cutting stopovers from companion passes. This is mostly just closing a loophole—you can still use Ascent and Business card companion passes for normal one-ways or round trips. But the change definitely hurts the value of the companion pass. (AwardWallet)
Good news and bad news 📈📉
JetBlue boosts value for top elites, families, devalues base status. Lower-level elites will get fewer checked bags and companion upgrades, but flights for children under 12 will count towards their parent’s status qualification, and higher level members will see perks like lounge access, more upgrade certificates, and higher earning rates. (OMAAT)
Rumors 👀
United is launching a debit card. Don’t want a credit card but still want rewards? United may have you covered. (MilesTalk) (Interesting regulatory backstory here.)
Fun 👻
Citi launches ad campaign with Kristen Bell. And apparently I’ve been saying “Strata” wrong: it’s strah-ta. (VFTW)
AA goes retro. They’re going to have an old-school “flagship” livery on a 777 for their 100-year anniversary, and I dig the paint scheme. (OMAAT)
Sign-up bonuses of the Week 🎯
Nothing fancy this week, but Hyatt added to their usual World of Hyatt Card bonus offer with a fast track to status. As usual, you can get 30,000 points after spending $3,000 in the first 3 months after opening the card, as well as 2x on all normally-1x purchases for 6 months, on up to $15,000 in spending. Now, you can also earn 2 tier-qualifying night credits per night, up to 15 nights, on stays through January 31, 2026. Hyatt has three elite tiers: Discoverist, Explorist, and Globalist, unlocked at 10, 30, and 60 nights, respectively. You get Discoverist status (and 5 night credits) just for having this card, but if you’re closing in on Explorist or Globalist (the best mainstream hotel status), this bonus might help put you over the top.
That’s nice if you’re in that specific market, but it isn’t a needle mover for me (this basic deal is always available, minus the status boost) and for this card I’d hold out for the 5-free-night offer if it comes around again. Heat scale: (no fire here).
